Introduction
Tim Baarslag and Thimjo Koça from CWI’s Intelligent and Autonomous Systems group have been awarded a best paper award of the AAMAS workshops with their paper Enabling Negotiating Agents to Explore Very Large Outcome Spaces. AAMAS (International Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems) is the largest and most influential conference in the area of agents and multiagent systems with 787 submitted papers and 12 workshops this year.
This work presents BIDS (Bidding using Diversified Search), an algorithm that can be used by negotiating agents to search very large outcome spaces. BIDS provides a balance between being rapid, accurate, diverse, and scalable search, allowing agents to search spaces with as many as 10^250 possible outcomes on very run-of-the-mill hardware. A presentation about the paper “Enabling Negotiating Agents to Explore Very Large Outcome Spaces” by Thimjo Koça is available online and can be watched here.
About the AAMAS
AAMAS gathers researchers and practitioners from around the world to share and discuss the latest advances in the field of autonomous agents and multiagent systems, and provides an internationally renowned high-profile forum for publishing and keeping up to date on all areas of agent technology. AAMAS is the flagship conference of the non-profit International Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (IFAAMAS).
