Caroline Jagtenberg, who recently obtained her PhD at CWI, has been awarded an NWO Rubicon grant. NWO grants these subsidies to young, highly promising research talents, enabling them to gain international research experience at foreign top institutes. With the grant, Jagtenberg will do research at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) for a period of two years.
Jagtenberg’s research focuses on ambulance management. For emergency services, a quick response time is of vital importance. Jagtenberg will create mathematical models to analyze the interaction between different types of emergency vehicles. She will also research how emergency services can be optimized when a driver and an emergency physician leave from different locations.
