Onno Boxma is the new scientific director of EURANDOM, the European research institute for stochastics. He is appointed for five years, starting October 1, 2005. Boxma will combine this function with his chair of Stochastic Operations Research at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE). Boxma is also attached to CWI's Advanced Communication Networks theme as seconded researcher.
Before his appointment as professor at the TUE in 1998, Boxma worked at CWI. He first led the department Operations Research, Statistics and System Theory and later the Probability, Networks and Algorithms cluster.
