Biography
Anton Bouter is currently a Scientific Software Developer in the Evolutionary Intelligence (EI) group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Before this, he was a PhD candidate in the same group, under the supervision of Prof. dr. Peter A.N. Bosman. He received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 2014 and 2016, respectively.
Research
Anton Bouter's research includes the design and application of model-based evolutionary algorithms, generally within the scope of numerical optimization, and their applications to the field of radiation oncology. More specifically, current research is focused on the application of multi-objective model-based evolutionary algorithms to the optimization of treatment plans for High-Dose-Rate (HDR) prostate brachytherapy. This includes the development of state-of-the-art evolutionary algorithms and the application of high-performance computing through the use of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs).
