Biography
Peter T. S. van der Gulik is a researcher at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica in Amsterdam, in the research group Algorithms and Complexity, and in the Information and Documentation department. Peter is working on problems at the interface of biology and computer science. He is interested in structure and origin of the genetic code, in eukaryogenesis, and in tRNA biology. Up to May 2024, Peter van der Gulik is co-author of eleven peer-reviewed articles: PMID 19761777, PMID 21358008, PMID 22076654, PMID 23877342, PMID 24178388, PMID 25607813, PMID 27454314, PMID 28927381, PMID 36366773, PMID 36727270 and PMID 38436469; and author of peer-reviewed article PMID 26580656. He defended his Ph.D. thesis, Considerations in Evolutionary Biochemistry (ISBN 978-94-028-1569-6), on September 18, 2019. Prof. dr. Harry Buhrman (Universiteit van Amsterdam and Quantinuum; then: QUSOFT, Universiteit van Amsterdam and CWI) and prof. dr. Wouter Hoff (Oklahoma State University) are his thesis advisors, and dr. Dave Speijer (Amsterdam UMC and Universiteit van Amsterdam) is Peter's thesis co-advisor.
